How to fix iOS network connection issues?

Problem

In some cases, your iOS device might have trouble establishing a network connection while using a Saily eSIM. This can prevent you from accessing the internet even if you have an active data plan.

 

Common Symptoms

If you are facing this issue, you’ll see the following or similar indicators:

  • Unable to connect to the internet while using Saily eSIM.
  • No signal bars or "No Service" message in the status bar.
  • Data services are not working despite being in a covered area.

 

Troubleshooting Steps

To resolve the network issues you are facing, follow these steps:

  • Ensure your plan is active by following the activation instructions for your Saily eSIM.
  • Disconnect from Wi-Fi:
    1. Go to your phone's settings.
    2. Select “Wi-Fi”.
    3. Turn off “Wi-Fi”.
  • Toggle Airplane Mode:
    1. Go to “Settings”.
    2. Turn Airplane Mode ON.
    3. Wait 15 seconds.
    4. Turn Airplane Mode OFF.
  • Enable Data Roaming:
    1. Go to “Settings”.
    2. Select “Mobile Service”.
    3. Click on your Saily eSIM.
    4. Toggle “Data Roaming” to ON.
  • Check if eSIM is enabled and preferred:
    1. Go to “Settings”.
    2. Select “Mobile Service (or Cellular)”.
    3. Click on your installed Saily eSIM.
    4. Ensure “Turn On This Line” is enabled.
    5. Go back to “Mobile Service” settings.
    6. Click “Mobile Data” and select your Saily eSIM.
  • Disable 5G settings:
    1. Go to “Settings”.
    2. Select “Mobile Service”.
    3. Click on your Saily eSIM.
    4. Tap “Voice & Data”.
    5. Select “LTE”, “4G”, or “3G” instead of 5G.
  • Configure APN settings:
    1. Go to “Settings”.
    2. Select “Mobile Service”.
    3. Click on your Saily eSIM.
    4. Tap “Mobile Data Network”.
    5. In the APN fields for both Mobile Data and LTE Setup, input: wbdata.
    6. Leave other fields blank.
  • Reboot your iOS device:
    1. Press and hold the Volume Down + Side button until the power-off slider appears.
    2. Drag the slider to turn the device off.
    3. Turn it back on by holding the Side button until the Apple logo appears.
  • Reset Network Settings:
    1. Go to “Settings”.
    2. Select “General”.
    3. Tap “Transfer or Reset iPhone”.
    4. Tap “Reset”.
    5. Select “Reset Network Settings”.
  • Select Network Operator manually:
    1. Go to “Settings”. 
    2. Select mobile service (It might be called cellular on some iPhone devices).
    3. Tap on the installed eSIM.
    4. Click “Network Selection”.
    5. Disable the automatic selection: 


       
    6. Select the provider provided by Saily.
