How to install the Saily eSIM on Android

Introduction

In this article, you will learn how to install the Saily eSIM on your Android device using automatic or manual methods to ensure a seamless mobile data connection.

 

Prerequisites/Before you start:

  • Double-check if your device is eSIM-compatible.
  • Ensure you have the Saily app installed on your device.
  • Maintain a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi) during the installation process.
  • If you are using Google Pixel, check out this guide.

 

Here's what to do

Install via the Saily app

  1. Open the Saily app and tap “Install eSIM”.


     
  2. Select which device you will be using the eSIM on and tap “Continue”.
  3. Tap “Start eSIM install”.
  4. Tap "Allow", and wait a few seconds until the eSIM is installed without closing the app.
  5. Now, you can enter in a name for your eSIM if you wish to do so, afterwards press "Next".
  6. Select your preferred SIM for calls and click "Next", now do the same for messages, and lastly mobile data.
  7. Head back to the Saily app, and tap "Continue".
  8. Follow the instructions to turn on the eSIM line:


     
  9. You will now need to enable roaming, follow the steps in the app:


     
  10. Lastly, follow the instructions to enable mobile data usage for the Saily eSIM:


     
  11. Ensure it is activated before traveling.

 

Manual install via settings

If you receive an error message during automatic installation, follow these steps:

  1. Tap “View instructions” in the Saily app to see your setup details.
  2. Go to “Settings” and tap “Connections”, select “SIM manager”.
  3. Tap “Add eSIM” and select “Scan QR code from service provider”.
  4. Tap “Enter activation code”.
  5. Input the details from the "View instructions" screen and tap “Connect”, then tap “Add”.
  6. Go to “Settings” and tap “Connections”.
  7. Select “SIM manager” and tap “Mobile data”, then select the Saily eSIM.
  8. Once the main screen shows the eSIM is installed, ensure it is activated before traveling.

Alternative manual method

  1. If the steps above do not match your device, go to “Settings” and select “Network & internet”, tap “SIMs”.
  2. Tap “Add SIM” and select “Download a new eSIM”.
  3. Tap “Need help?” and select the option to enter the code manually.
  4. Input the details from the Saily app and tap “Continue”, then “Download”.
  5. Head to “Settings”, tap “Network & internet”, and select “SIMs”, 
  6. Turn on the toggle for the eSIM and enable “Mobile data and Roaming”.
  7. Once the main screen shows the eSIM is installed, ensure it is activated before traveling.
