How to gift someone a Saily eSIM?

Want to give someone the gift of staying connected? Saily doesn't have a "gift" button, but you can buy an eSIM yourself and share it with a friend, family member, or colleague. This article explains how to do that, why credits can't be moved to another account, and how a referral can save you money.

NOTE: You can't transfer Saily credits between accounts. If you want to use your credits for someone else's trip, buy an eSIM with those credits and share the QR code as described below. You can't move a credit balance to another account.

Here's what to do

You buy the plan on your own account, then share the eSIM QR code with the person you're gifting it to.

1. Open the Saily app and choose the destination and data plan you want to gift.
2. Complete the purchase as usual.
3. When the eSIM is ready, find its QR code in the app.
4. Send the QR code to the recipient, for example as a screenshot or in a message.
5. The recipient scans the QR code on their own phone to install the eSIM.

NOTE: Each eSIM can be installed on one device only. Don't install it on your own phone first. A QR code can't be reused once it's installed, so ask the recipient to install it soon after they receive it.

Before the recipient installs

• Their phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked.
• If they use the Saily app, it needs to be version 3.23 or newer.
• They need a stable Wi-Fi connection to install.

Shared plans as an alternative

If you want several people to stay connected, a shared plan may suit you better than gifting one eSIM. You buy one plan and invite up to 4 more people, so 5 people can use it. You don't need to buy a separate plan for each person.

• You can share any plan except Ultra plans and Unlimited data plans.
• Sharing only works in the Saily app.
• You can only share a plan that hasn't been activated yet. This means no one has installed it or started using it.
• To invite someone, add their email address in the app. They get an email with a Claim plan button.
• They need the Saily app and a Saily account to claim the plan.

Save money with a referral

If the person you're gifting to is new to Saily, they can use your referral code when they create their account. They get $5 off their first purchase, or $10 off their first Ultra plan. You'll get Saily credit as a thank-you.

To find and share your code:

1. Open the Saily app and tap Credits at the bottom of the screen.
2. Tap Share code to send it, or tap Copy to paste it somewhere.

Additional tips

• Gifting is for personal use. Don't buy eSIMs to resell them, as this violates our Terms of Service.
• Gifting works for data plans only. You can't share or give Saily phone numbers or phone plans to someone else.
• The plan stays linked to your account. If you ask for a refund, it goes through your account, and you may not get one once the eSIM is installed or activated.
• If you already installed the eSIM on your phone, delete it before passing it on.
• The discount is for new users and applies only to their first purchase. You can't use your own code.
• Your credit stays valid for one year.
• On Android, you need to claim your referral reward by hand. Use the Claim Your Reward option in the app.
